The authors Kenda Creasy Dean and Ron Foster write, “Authentic ministry with youth is not just about spiritual disciplines; it is a spiritual discipline…In practice, this means that when our own life with God catches fire, the souls of youth and our congregations ignite as well. […] This shift relocates youth ministry in significant relationships between youth and adults and moves away from (separate) programs as the primary vehicals for youth ministry.”

“Significant relationships” are the foundation of our youth ministry at First Presbyterian Church. We want to create space where young people can form long-term relationships with other students and adults in the Church. Through working together in mission, learning together in small groups, and leading/participating in worship, young people develop a sense of God’s love for them and call in their lives.

We meet every other Sunday at Beau and Amber’s house for youth group and periodically have special events for mission and fellowship.
