The mission and outreach team encourages 1st Presbyterian Church to share the spirit of Christmas by participating in the Adopt-a-Family program through Good Samaritan. This year we have again adopted one family.
Our family consists of a married couple and their children: an 8 year old girl, twin girls age 5 and a little boy due the first of December. Mom cannot work due to pregnancy related medical issues. She hopes to find work after the baby’s birth. Dad works in a seasonal field, so his hours have just been eliminated until spring. The parents asked only for things for their children. They finally listed a couple things for themselves.
Their Christmas wish lists are printed on tags on the “Giving Gift” located in the narthex. Remove the tag for the gift(s) you plan to purchase. Please do NOT wrap the children’s gifts. (We’d like to let the parents have that joy.) Please DO wrap the parents’ gifts. Please tape the “name” tag to the top of the gift. All gifts need not be new as long as they are in good condition. Additionally, gift wrap, tape, and bows are needed. All gifts, gift cards, food, supplies, etc. should be placed in the front parlor room no later than Sunday, Dec. 14th.
Thank you for sharing the blessings of the season with our adopted family!
